About Me

A life’s passion becomes a career.

Hello and welcome! Tilly Fine Foods is the culmination of my lifelong journey in the culinary arts. A self-trained chef, I starting cooking for my family when I was very young, learning the basics from my mother and grandmothers. As an obsessive researcher, I continued gaining confidence and knowledge from cookbooks, magazines, and instructional shows (thank you Nigella!). Soon, I began developing recipes, penning a food blog, and snapping photos of food and cocktails for magazines and local food businesses. In 2019, I decided to leave my career in federal environmental protection and to turn my passion for food and entertaining into my profession. I called my business Tilly Fine Foods based on a former restaurant of the same name (Tilli’s) where my great grandfather worked as a chef during the mid-twentieth century in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. The name also symbolically combines my love of everything vintage with the excitement of all that is new. A love which I continually celebrate in my food and approach to life.

While the COVID-19 pandemic initially affected my plans, it did allow me to spend a summer as lead chef in reviving a previously dormant restaurant at the iconic Boatslip Resort in Provincetown, Massachusetts. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity that allowed me to gain experience in leading a commercial kitchen that served lunch and dinner seven days a week at the height of the extremely busy summer season. I would love to be able to put that experience and my culinary expertise I have developed over decades to work for you. Let me prepare you a meal that turns the everyday into something special.
